Postal strikes are bad, but today quite frankly I can see an upside to it for my copy of Forza 3 arrived from GAME three days early!
So far I’ve given it a forty minute run and it’s looking pretty good so far. Forza 3 is the Xbox 360 title that has actually asked me to install the main guts of the game; this is normally an optional feature for those of us who despise the jet engine sound of the 360’s DVD drive. Fortunately for me it was a painless procedure even though I have read elsewhere that others have compared their installation experience to the worst PC game install they’ve ever sat through. Bear in mind though, I didn’t install the downloadable tracks and cars in which a single-use code is included in the box.
The first race was a bit of a breeze, but I expected it to be as it was the sole track from the demo. As I ran through each of the circuits in my little Ford Zetec (the faster cars are unlocked as you progress) I racked up quite a few Gs in achievements. I also noticed that a lot of the tracks that I’ve covered so far were the same but had varying routes, which was pretty nice. The only track I recognise so far (not all of them are fictional) is the Circuit de Catalunya, or for those of you who watch F1 – the Spanish GP!
I haven’t quite played with all of the features, but then again today I was just focused on the single player racing side of things. Over the next few days will be checking out the online mode and will be desecrating a car with the livery editor thingo.
Also something else to note… when the game is loading I can feel my life slipping away from me, it takes too damn long! O_o
