Earlier on this week I experienced a seemingly unresolvable issue with Left 4 Dead 2 where the game would lock up just after the map had loaded. I tried pretty much everything I could find on the Internet to resolve this, but eventually had to give up and resort to a rebuild.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind rebuilding my PC, with some of the backups I keep it’s a pretty quick process – not to mention using a clean Windows install is always very nice. Unfortunately there is always ONE thing about rebuilds that bugs me and that’s the reinstall of Games for Windows Live.

This entry is a test, it may not look very special but it is. This is the first entry I have posted from my HTC Desire. I’m using the WordPress application from the Android Marketplace.

It’s pretty nifty as I am able to carry out all the usual functions I use for this site such as: posting new entries, editing existing ones and validating comments. All in all very satisfactory and handy for blogging during breaks at work or when on lengthly train trips.

I would also like to point out that I have installed a new plugin that will enable you to comment to my blog entries using your Twitter account (if you have one). Just simply click on the ‘sign in with Twitter’ button at the bottom of the entry. This will take you directly to Twitter for account authentication before returning you back to the entry you wish to comment on. You can then comment as usual, simples!

I could introduce the same thing for Facebook accounts, but I really don’t want to.

PS: Bulmers Summer Blend cider is pretty nice!

Say hello to the new temporary member of my family, he is a Red Legged Partridge that was wandering around our garden yesterday morning. We’re not sure sure were he came from but he didn’t budge from the garden despite the heavy showers we had throughout yesterday, he does seem to be very tame though.

I have just completed Dead Rising 2: Case Zero for the third time since I downloaded it on Saturday. The precursor to the full game that hits the shops later on this month is an excellent reminder of how great the original is and also gives you a sweet enough taste of what the main game will be like.

Here be spoilers; if you continue beyond this point and whine about having Case Zero spoiled for you then TS!

For the last few months I have been undecided on which version of F1 2010 I should get – the PC version or the Xbox 360 version? If I got the 360 version I would be able to play with friends over Live, however if I got the PC version I would be able to use my steering wheel that has been in retirement for the last 4-5 years!

Anyway I finally made my decision today, I’m going to get the PC version. Here are my reasons:

1. I like using the steering wheel for F1 games.
2. £12 cheaper than the 360 version
3. Performance is likely to be better on the PC (if DIRT2 is anything to go by)

Oh, and the game supports Windows Live. So I can still get my cheevos in!
