Instead of watching the Royal Wedding over the weekend, I was having way too much fun building a Media Center PC for my Mother. The reason for this was because the Digital TV Recorder I had bought for her Birthday in 2008 had finally given up the ghost (wouldn’t record a damn thing!) after almost three years of giving us grief. I thought I’d build a basic PC dedicated for this purpose, because I wasn’t in the mood to encounter various problems with another unit and didn’t really want to replace the whole thing a year down the line when HD Freeview becomes available in our area.

Today was one of those few days of the year where I leave my computer switched off and go outside *shock*. I went in to our Old Town to attend the Jack in the Green festival that was taking place, as my girlfriend was taking part in the main procession and would also be doing a performance with her dance troupe later on the day. I had my camera on me and got quite a few decent-ish pics, here’s a small gallery of Sarah-approved photos for you to check out.

For the very first time in this blog’s history I have managed to miss out an entire month of blogging. Sadly there were no updates from me (unless you were checking out Twitter) for the month of April. I blame this on my new job, which can be knackering – especially when you’ve been deskbound for the entirety of your preceding career and you’re a little bit clinically obese (I’m sorting that out, slowly, honest!)

I also blame it on not being arsed.

Anyway, it’s a brand new month and I plan to do something that has never been done on this site before – update once a day for an entire month to make up for the lack of updates. It’s going to be tough, but I’m sure we’ll get there. Maybe.
